My love of words grew from early childhood. I cannot recall a time before which my mother would read to me every night. I’d fall asleep to the sound of her voice and pictures of magical creatures and distant lands she conjured up for me swirling around in my head. Thanks to her encouragement and the tales of adventures with which my father regaled me, I began to scribble down my own little rhymes and stories as soon as I had learned to read and write. This love of words and the magic they create has remained with me all my life.

I now draw inspiration from my own children, my family and animals and the rich traditions and folklore of the Island of Jersey where I live and work as a portrait artist – my other great love.
